Has anybody seen the new S&W Model 657 for 2001 with the 7 and 1/2 inch full underlug barrel? I saw a picture of it in the S&W insert in the latest issue of Guns and Ammo. I hope I am not chastised for asking this. Any comments?

Sorry Maurice, I haven't seen one yet. As far as throwing stones at Smith & Wesson is concerned I think its a bad move. With all the other flak the gun industry takes it shouldn't have to be assualted by peolpe who should be supporters. While I can't say I agree with the decisions that were made by the powers that be at Smith, I understand the pressure that they're under as a company.

Where else can you get an American made double action revolver other than a Ruger? Colts gone, as far as I'm concerned, we can't lose Smith & Wesson.

My understanding is that the weinies that got Smith and Wesson in trouble are no longer in control of the company. If you want to hold a mad , do it about the people, not the guns and especialy not now with the perps gone.
I don't know anything about the new Smiths but I do know I love my 6" 657. :p
