They are referred to as four clicks because you HEAR four clicks when the revolver is brought to full cock as there are on the original Colt SAA. The new Uberti is missing the safety notch on the hammer that produces the first click sound in the four click progression you hear on those with a safety notch on the hammer. The safety notch on the hammer is no longer there but instead there is a retractable firing pin mechanism inside the hammer of the new Uberti that will only allow the firing pin to engage the primer on a loaded cartridge when the trigger is pulled. Therefore, if a fully loaded revolver is dropped and/or takes a strike or blow to the hammer it cannot discharge a round.

I am old school and still prefer 4 clicks.

I think you'll be happy with it. I am with both my SA Cav length .357mag and my SA Army length .45 Colt Ubertis.
