I just got done cleaning my Saiga rifle. This was the first time I've had a chance to attemp any accurate shooting with it. I tried various brands of ammo. Here are the results, keep in mind that this is a very unsientific test and I was shooting off-hand. Romanian soft point; 2-3 inches at 25 yrds. Russain H.P.: 3-4 inches at 25 yards. Brown Bear: 1.5 inches at 25 yards and PMC 1.5 inches at 25 yards
With some of the HP I could hear the hammer drop before the round went off! What junk! I remember the Romanian stuff as being faily nasty also when fired through an SKS I once owned. I wonder how the rifle would shoot off a rest at 100 yards Have any of you had any experience with these rifles?

Saiga 7.62 x 39

You were asking about the best ammo for Saiga. I do not
own one, but am saving my pennies, but shoot with a buddy
that hase a Sporter 7.62 x 39.
At range, off rest, we got 2-3 inch groups at 100 yards over
open sights with Wolff new manufacture. When he put
a simple 4x scope we got it down to 1 1/2 inch. Ain^t perfect
but seems okay for us non-expert types. Had no problem with the rifle at all so I intend to get one as soon as my
lifeboat comes to the beach.

I've got one in .308 and It is nasty accurate. I've had 3 different guns in 7.62*39 and all of them stank for accuracy.
