I have a Marlin Guide Gun and would like to mount a scope for some-time use. I want to be able to remove/attach the scope easily and quickly in the field without a loss of zero. I also would like to be able to attach a peep sight to the scope base, and again beable to remove/attach the peep sight in the field without loss of zero.  Any suggestions?

Hi, JB:
Have you checked out Marshall's Tech Note .444 Marlin- America's Most Versatile Big-Bore Part I ? Click on the Tech Notes bar on the left side of the screen and scroll down to it or click on the direct link below.

Thanks for the reply.  I read the article and will give some thought to doing something similar.

Also take a look at AO Sights (Ashley Outdoors) Guide Gun long relief scope mount for the Marlin. Seems like a good combo with their Ghost Ring set up.

Their web address is <a href="http://www.aosights.com

Good" target="_blank">http://www.aosights.com

Good</a> luck.

Hi,

Will be reporting on the Ashley Scout Scope mount I think in Part VI of the .444 Series we are doing.  Will be reporting on the mount, it's merits and detractors, and the scout scopes for which it's designed.  I think all will appreciate this section, as we will cover other accessory items as well.  The scout scope mount will be the center-peice for this section of the article however.  Stay tuned, film at eleven!

God Bless,

Marshall
