I have a Remington 513T Matchmaster and looking to put a decent scope on it. I typically shoot targets at 200 yds with it and have been looking at the Leupold VXI and Leupold Rimfire lines as options, but not really sure what are the best features to consider in a scope for rimfire shooting at such distances. Low light shooting capability is not really a necessary feature, but magnification is helpful at that distance, and would shoot at much closer distances from time to time so variable magnification seems to be the direction i'm leaning.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Price range would like to stay under $300.

You really should consider a scope with an adjustable objective, regardless of magnification. I put a (used) 4-12x Leupold AO on my CZ 452, works great, although I haven't tried it to 200 yards.

Not sure what's available in that price range.....
