just bought a bushnell banner dusk and dawn rifle scope. haven't mounted it yet but noticed that there is grease around the zoom adjustment. Is this normal? I assume that it should be sealed and there should be nothing around it
Welcome after. I'd say that's fairly normal to have some lubricant around the power adjustment and focus adjustment controls. They should still be sealed.
i might be just paranoid. i had a bushnell sportsman two days ago but half way through sighting it in the cross hairs detached. just a nightmare. so i went over the new scope pretty good. thanks for the reply
There is probably an o-ring sealing the joint. The factory would have used some type of Silicone grease on the o-ring. Probably just a bit more used than was needed.
