Several years ago I bought a Lyman Great Plains rifle and I love it! It's a tack driver with open sights @ 75 yrds. Making a long story short, I bought the Great Plains Hunter barrel to go along with this great rifle,BUT the old eyes aren't as good as they used to be, and I don't wanna quit shootin and huntin! So my question is where would I get a scope base for my Hunter barrel?

Thanks,
Denny

I am not sure who or if a scope mount is made for that rifle. I would contact Lyman. I am wondering if a gun smith could not make the scope bases that fit the T/C barrels work on your Lyman. He might have to do some drilling and tapping but they take the back sight off for the first mount, and then the back one might have to be made.

I know all about old eyes. I swear, anything over 75 yards with open sights is getting to my limit. I scoped a lot of my T/C rifles and what a difference it made.

Good luck

Lyman is made by Investarms Inc. So if that mount is made for the octagon barrel and not the roundball like the Mustang (I think it is called) that should work. Call Lyman and ask them. I am sure they would know what mount it would take.
