Hello all,

I have a Sears Model 53 in .30-06. I've done some online research and understand that my rifle is built using a post-64 winchester model 70 action.

I would like to replace the original stock with a newer wood or composite version. (the gun has sentimental value, so I'd like to freshen it up rather than invest in another .30-06)

Does anyone know if a regular post-64 model 70 replacement stock will fit the gun? (Any references or suggestions would be very helpful)

Thanks in advance.

Should fit any push-feed model 70 stock, I would expect. It does have the floorplate that swings down, right? If not then the "670" stock should work, if I got the models right.

Should drop into your basic long-action model 70 stock.... if I wanted a second opinion, I'd call Brownell's.

Good luck.
