Just wondering if anybody has tried one of these things out? If so, how'd you like it, and if cost wasn't a factor, would you buy one?

As always I start by checking out the reviews on Midway USA even if I buy somewhere else. There are two so so reviews and 7 perfect reviews. Seems to be worth a shot if you have $ 699.00 to spend on a scope.

I suppose I'll get used to it, but...I keep forgetting about this Midway USA deal. We don't really have anything like that up here (except maybe Wholesale Sports...but they don't stock anything, and most of the time the stuff they do stock is 50% more than Cabela's).

I've never used, or even seen, a Shepard scope. There is quite a bit of discussion (mostly negative) of them here:

I have one on my .270 and one on my .22! Love them, but have never shot over 300 yards.
