Rockriver arms cuts the 223 Wylde chamber in some of their rifle barrels, it's an easy solution to the ammunition question, the Wylde chamber handles both 233 and 5.56 ammunition.

Bottom line short of a bore obstruction the risk of something happening is no greater than pulling the trigger on one round to another.

whether you are shooting a .22 or a .50 BMG eye protection along with a strong use of your brain is always the best protection.

I've tried it and just can't get a 50BMG to work in my 22! :)

Ya know, I've had several 223's but have never fired to first round of military stuff in them. I fact have never fired a reload made with 5.56 brass. But to be honest I doubt it would matter if I did. Imagine the law suit if someone blew up a 223 because they fired another round in it that fit perfectly.
