I've been scouting around for another scope for a varmint rifle. The current glass is a 4.5-14X44 Nikon Buckmaster. I've been very pleased with this scope but it's going on an AR-15 as a spare prairie dog rifle.

I'd like a little more upper end power and 14x is as much as they offer in the Buckmaster line. Was considering a Monarch but noticed online the Sightron SII had better reviews for less money. The particular scope I'm looking at is their target scope #20114 it's 6-24X42 AO.

After looking thru 20 pages using Sightron as a search key word and not finding the information I was looking for just thought I'd ask y'all here. Those who have 'em, what do ya think?

Finally found a dealer that had Sightrons in stock. The advice of going to SII Big Sky's or SIII's was a good. There is a big difference over the regular SII line. Really like the SIII's but the price tag is a little heavier than I can bear right now. The guy selling the scopes said his sales rep claims SIII's will go head to head with upper end Ziess and Swarvaski. It's a big claim but they are truely an awesome scope from what I can tell.

I have a Sightron Big Sky 36 X 42-FCH on my Rimfire BR rifle, great scope ! has fantastic optics and extended eye releif over many other better brand scopes and when you have one magnification it has to work.

Lifetime Warranty also was the dealbreaker, comes with sunshade, 1/8" click adjustments, adj objective, target style turrets, and less than half the cost of a similar Leupold.
