I don't think another spring would be necessary for function, but if you're spending that kind of cash for the trigger/hammer combo, it might be that you'd want to try a different spring weight to get the best feel. I'd try the factory spring first, and see where you stand, you may have just what you're looking for without installing another spring. The spring could be easily changed at a later date, if you're not satisfied with the action, and/or if you have problems with consistent ignition.
