Just bought a 625-5, 5 inch .45 Colt, used in decent shape for $300.00. What's the highest I should go for a 4" 45 Colt Mountain Gun???? Same guy has both guns.

Hi all,
This has gotten me all worked up on S&W's again! My only wish is that they would make more of the 45ACP MG's. As much as I like playing with the 45 Colt, that fast reload with full-moon clips just tickles me. I foolishly let a 4" full lug 625 get out of my hands several years ago and have regretted it ever since.
One question to everyone here, though....Am I alone in wishing that S&W would bring out N frames in a MG configuration but with a 3" (3 1/2" maybe) barrel? Boy, talk about a handy big bore belt gun for hunting, desert bumming, woods walking......the ultimate "Kit Gun". Gotta stop thinking about it, I'm drooling on the kb!

I have a 44 mag Smith N-Frame with a 3" bbl. It's like a huge snubnose. It's blue with an unfluted cylinder. Don't see them around much. It's either a 29-2 or a 29-5. Too big for me to carry regularly. I prefer my Glock 27 or Colt Officer's .45, but I guess it would make a good gun if you're camping in bear country...

Congratulate me....I got the .45 Colt Mountain Gun from the guy...Also got a third generation SAA in nickel...I would have preferred blue.....And he threw in a 1917 Colt New Service in 455 Eley.....I gave him $850.00....Now if only I can get him to part with his 1943 Govt. Model....

i've been wishing for a 5" MG. i can see how a 3" or 3 1/2" would be appealing, tho.

I have a Blued S&W25-2 45LC lately I've been shooting too much hot stuff through mine 270 gr Kieth style cast in front of 23.5 grs of H110. MV about 1100 FPS so I dropped 2 grs to 21grs of H110 I don't know how fast those are but they still kick too much. What **** is wrong with me?
