Has anyone here installed a Kick Eez Sorbothane GTF recoil pad.
I am curious what technique was used to grind the pad down to the contour of the stock. I have an idea in mind of how to do it, just curious what someone else may have done.
Also, what grit seemed to do the trick.

I used my brothers edge sander (think of a sideways belt sander that is about 3 feet long) and I taped the stock real well. I've done a few, IIRC one of them I sprayed wd-40 on the pad and the edge finished nicer than it was coming out with out it, but I think it depends on the pad material. I think I did it on my 100 straight pad

Sounds good, I was thinking taping and using a belt sander for the initial start. Then moving on to a orbital.

Thanks for the replies.

I fit one of those pads to a .375 H&H and dressed it down with a belt sander. Worked great. Be sure and mask the wood though, just so you can see when you're getting close.
