This book by Terry Wieland covers 9 of the principle spiral horn antelopes in Africa. He goes into great detail of the history of sport hunting for each specie, the terrain and environment in which they are hunted. Political history of the countries are included, as they have great effect on game populations and areas open for hunting. He quotes other sources liberally, most notable Teddy Roosevelt, James Mellon, Elgin Gates, Jesus Yuren, and early British explorers.

Fairly dry reading in the first chapter or so, but after that is really interesting and hard to put down. Even though I haven't been to Africa, it has been a great source of information for planning my safari. A hearty thumbs up.
