hey guys got another brain racker. this time its a customers gun. its an old springfield 187m semi auto tube feed 22 it fires it ejects it just wont fire more than one at a time. i load it cock it fire it ejects but doesnt reset the fireing pin. ive cleaned everything and no changes. please help i know this gun is old and scouting the internet tells me its prone to jam but id atleast like to know because im stumped.

~ Make sure the Release Housing Assembly is screwed down tight, both front and rear.
~ Make sure the Bumper is in place and functional.
~ Make sure the Recoil Plug is tight.
~ Double check cleanliness. Breech face, bolt face and extractor slots in barrel. Scrape parts if necessary.

thanks mainspring found the issue the trigger assembly needs to be replaced

I've seen very few that needed replaced, and then usually due to someone's tinkering.

The bolt is supposed to stay back when the trigger is held to the rear, then goes forward when the trigger is released.

Do make sure that the Release Housing Assembly screws are tight, and that they are staked in place.

hey guys ive worked on it some more and today it fired 5 rounds before jamming. i then tried cci stingers and after that it was back to fire fiddle pull out jam fire fiddle pull out jam. i researched somemore and thought could it be the chamber needs opening or reaming?

Is that one of those really old ones that the bolt handle pushes in and out, thus creating a single fire-straight pull bolt action? If it is, the detent spring in the mechanism may need to be replaced.

no it does pull out but only pushes in on a open bolt notch. i checked the chamber face and its pretty ruff from dry firing i think i need to reshape it

i used stingers incase of not enough pressure to move bolt back all the way
