i was looking at buying a swiss k31 and was wondering if anyone knows if there is anyone that still makes the 7.5 ammo for it. i know you can purchase surplus but wasnt sure if there was any new production ammo. thanks.
Norma, Prvi Partizan, and Wolf make ammo, the surplus Swiss ammo is very good some say match quality. If you get a K31 pull the but plate off, the solders kept a info tag there. You can look up who it was issued to what unit ect..
7.5X55 Swiss is also fairly easy to handload. I make my cases from reformed .284Win, and it uses standard .308 bullets. Ballistically very close to .308Win. and uses the same powders.
Although heavy and a bit over-engineered, a great rifle and shooter. Handloads are easy. There are no-gunsmithing scope mounts available, either ahead of the receiver in "scout" mount fashion or side mount with "almost" over bore".
