AFAIK, there are none readily available for over-the-counter purchase.

There are, however, at least two options.

You can obtain a T/C .56SB SmoothBore barrel w/breechplug (around a 28ga I think) - but be aware that it's 1" across the flats, and IIRC a .50 cal T/C Hawken barrel is 15/16".

Another option would be to use the services of one of the several muzzloader gunsmiths who bore out rifles to smooth bores ( about $70 IIRC), using either your existing barrel or an inexpensive donor picked up somewhere.

If it were the .54 caliber then it would be one inch on the flats. Green Mountain Barrel Co made a .62 caliber (20 gauge) barrel that would fit in there with some minor adjustments. I had one, but sold it. It shot real good out to 25 yards and would even throw a 325 grain ball with good accuracy out to 30 yards. For the .50, other then the .56 caliber smoothbore, you are kind of out of luck.

If you have a New Englander, they make a 12 gauge barrel for that rifle. I have one of them. (one reason I sold the .62 caliber).

They make a real nice little grouse gun. Although since the dog died, it sure was hard to get them last year. He made it a lot easier as I could watch him and when his tail spun, I would shoulder and cock the gun. Now they surprise me fast and my hitting them has gotten a lot harder. Maybe time for another dog.

It might fit, if a Hawken breechplug/tang were fitted to it - IIRC, TOTW has them.

The only glitch might be the round New Englander bbl not fitting correctly in the Hawken stock's octagon barrel inletting - so you might want to try-fit it before any rebreeching.

I don't think it would be at all practical to fit a NE barrel to a Hawken stock, they are very different in every way. As to boring out a T/C Hawken to smoothbore you probably could not go over 28 gauge since the underlug cut on the bottom and screw holes on top limit the bore size. The T/C Hawken, with its crescent butt, straight octagon barrel and double set triggers makes a very heavy, ill balanced and awkward handling substitute for a shotgun. Some people do use them for turkey where it's aimed like a rifle but for wing shooting I doubt you'd find a worse shotgun.
