I have made it a practice to put a strip of black electricians tape over my muzzle when hunting to prevent water, snow,or debris from getting in the bore.  My guide gun has all those little holes for rain and snow to get in, does anyone see an issue with a stip of tape over them too?   KevinNY

I do something similar. I use something made of latex, I learned it in the Army. Seriously. I did it not giving a thought to alternatives since I knew these items worked. I hold them on and tight with a rubber band.

Since then "party ballons" was offered as a reasonable and less shocking muzzle and port blocker.

I've heard of others using tape. It shouldn't affect anything. Carry a roll with you though as it won't stay on through even one shot.

I make sure there is no condensation in the barrel after it warms up. That being the only issue I can see; these solutions don't allow water vapor to pass through.
