Need to find a tried and true load for a TC Encore (not PH), 26" heavy stainless barrel. I'd really like to shoot the Federal 100g Triple Shock, but don't want to spend $40 and find out it doesn't shoot well.

Hoping to use your experience to find a good load that this rifle likes.

I have an Encore with 24" blued barrel in 25/06. Checking my notes, the only factory load I found anything written on was the Remington 100gr Core-Lokt SP load which says it shot under MOA in my Encore. For both my 25/06 and .257 I actually favor a bit heavier bullet like a 120gr for deer hunting. I can't say that one is better than the other, but I simply prefer a bit bigger bullet. I'd recommend you try the Federal Fusion 120gr load. I've not shot it in my Encore, but previous experience with the bargain priced Fusion ammo in other calibers has shown me excellent accuracy.
