I got this TC from a friend and it was never been fired. I was using 50 cal sabot - Hodgdon Triple 7 FFG powder- cci #11 cap. The first two shots great. The third shot took two caps. The fourth took four caps. The fifth shot took five caps. I field clean it every shot. What should I do? I cleaned the gun when I got home a found nothing wrong. The nipple looks good.

I have a TC Hawken with a GMB for roundball. 777 has been known to leave a ring of residue, usually where the load and bullet meet, not down by the nipple drum. My first guess would be that your field cleaning is pushing some residue into the drum and making subsequent shots difficult to ignite. Usually with 777 I don't have to clean until 20 or so shots, but this is patched round ball not sabot. Look at your cleaning, is it necessary for accuracy, and if so, is your procedure such that you aren't pushing debris into the nipple drum. Hope this helps.
AND, thank you for your service to our country, be proud of your service, Marine, we're proud of you for it.
