I had always wished wished wished that savage would make the 24 with a .243 / 12ga.! I had a friend with the 30.30 over the 12 and he loaded with Barnes 30 cal boattail hollowpoint.
Now this is definitely taboo in a lever gun, but he didn't own a lever gun. Worked Great on deer on down to coyotes! By the way, How expensive is the 24 these days? anyone know? th fish
