Hello all! I am considering joing a pistol league and was wondering if anyone knew what kind of accuracy leagues look for. How far, target size, ect. I have been shooting the caps off soda bottles with my Ruger .357 Security Six at 50 feet. any advise or insite into the world of competition shooting would be greatly appriciated. thanks to all that reply.

There are all kinds of competition available. What do you want to shoot?

I shoot Rimfire silhouette (rifle and pistol), rimfire handgun bullseye, NRA Highpower, USPSA, and informal Big Bore rifle. I also shoot Skeet and Sporting Clays, and I'll be shooting a few Trap events this summer too.

I recommend a few websites to check out, www.uspsa.org and www.nra.com for good leads on local competition. Also, you can check with your local ranges to see what they offer. As far as accuracy goes, you compete against yourself, so if you want to improve, they will help a lot.

I have a 6" Security Six as well, its a good gun.
