I just recieved my FA 454 the other day and finally got to shoot it for the first time today.  I had to shoot jacketed XTP's since I have not recieved my order from BTB yet.  I was wondering if those of you who own FA revolvers have lapped them and if so, what were the results.  I am going to slug my barrel again as the first time I tried I got inconsistend results.  I think it was because I used lead that was too hard.  Is lapping necessary for accuracy in all firearms in which hard cast bullets are to be used?

Thanks,

Joe,

Shoot it and see... it would be a mistake to conclude that lapping is or isn't necessary, before you have any evidence one way or the other.

Just finished slugging the barrel for the second time.  This time it went through like butter and the results were quit a bit more consistent.  Thanks for the reply Mike.
