Shot a turkey today out of a large flock. No sooner than the turkey hits the ground than a coyote runs directly at me and almost over the top of the bird. Apparently it was stalking the same birds I was and it turned out I was in his only quick path of egress. At about 40 yards, the coyote veered to his left and I rolled him with a load of #4 copper-plate. Put him down without so much as a tail wag, and he was a big dog. That was the BPI "Hammer Load" that I have mentioned elsewhere on this site. Very impressive to see what 1-3/8 oz of lead will do at 1480 FPS. I highly recommend this load for heavy shotgun duty.
