what do you guys think of unit 42 in arizona for deer hunting i live really close to the white tank mountains and i think that whould be a pretty good spot for my firts deer.

According to the G&F, most of the mountain area is closed to rifle hunting. Archery only. The desert areas are still open to rifles, though. Best to contact the G&F to answer these and other questions you many have on this unit.

Be sure to check with the local authorities regarding shooting/hunting in the desert in that area. My father lives in a relatively new developement at the base of the WhiteTanks just outside of Waddell. Apparently there are quite a few people that still go shooting in the area near his home. But, because of the new housing developments, it is no longer legal to shoot there.
