I've only heard magical/mystical hearsay about Viht powders. I'm considering using some in my 454 loads, and I hoped someone here has practical experience with them.

The two I'm considering is N310 and 3N37. Yes, they would be for very different loads. The N310 would be for low velocity plinking 45 LC loads, with the 3N37 for more serious hunting loads. In the future perhaps I'll play with N110 or N120 for al out loads, but not soon.

Who knows the truth?

nobody here in cleveland stocks vht,and nobody has been much help ordering any.if anyone has aaan online supplier,I would be interested in trying some also.maybe they have some positions open as a field rep.!

www.powdervalleyinc.com stocks some online. That's where I was going to order some, and I probably will anyway based on the third hand info I've got. Then I'll have first hand info, although no experience to compare it to. 3N37, N110 and N310. That ought to cover the spectrum of speeds.

I have the VV powders in N133, N135, N160, N165, N170, N550 and N560 - all for rifle reloading. Haven't tried any of the pistol powders,yet.

The rifle powders work with mixed results. The N133 is the best for my 45-70 shooting 350 gr bullets, as compared to the normal 3031, 4198, H322, RL-7, etc.

The N550 works best in my 6.5-06 and 120 grain bullets.

For all the others, it seems the old standards (IMR 4831, RL-22 and 25, and IMR 4350) get the accuracy edge.

Vihta Vuori powders are popular over here in Britain and are cheaper than U.S powders for us. They have an excellant repuation for being clean and accurate in most calibres.

I have used 42.2 gn of N140 with speer 150 gn SPBT bullets with excellant results.......

N140 ansd N540 have good results in .308's alot of our target guys using N540.....

In my Marlin .444 ss im using N133 with the Lee 310 bullets 40gn up to 45 gn so far with no signs of excess pressure, it does not seem to mind being compressed slightly either...

I hope to be experimenting with N133 in .218 Bee very soon ......... Will let you know how i get on !
