I think this bill is DOA based on what I've read in the papers. It's just a typical knee-jerk reaction to the terrible spate of cop-killing that's gone on around here since Halloween (7 cops killed in three unrelated shootings since 10/31/09, all of them ambush-style). The officer murdered on Halloween was shot with a Kel-Tec, I believe. The rest were killed with handguns. At any rate, it doesn't look like this bill is going anywhere.
