I have a Winchester 94 (new production) in .44 Mag, but...
If I wanted something original looking in .45 Colt, has anyone compared the Navy Arms 1873 to the Cimarron?

Any</a> idea which is better?

I think they are both made in Italy.

The Winchester 1873 design is a weak action for Blackpowder or equivalent loads. It can' be used as a baby 45-70. I can't speak of the quality of either firearms otherwise. Modern metallurgy makes no difference to the action. Just a cautionary statement FWIW.

If you want a strong copy of a traditional lever gun (for pistol cartridges), go with the '92 from Rossi.  It is a much stronger action than the toggle-link '73.
