Can someone guide me to a site or something that can show me an exploded view of a rifle and a name of all the parts? Or recommend a book like gunsmithing for dummies?

I am very interested in all of this stuff but have only a little more than a beginners understanding. when you guys talk about breech faces, truing actions, pillars and bedding, and so on I am very interested but hopelessly lost. Thanx

That is a HUGE question....

You have probably heard the saying, "Lock, stock, and barrel"? Well, that used to cover the major parts back in the days of side hammer muzzle loaders.

Here's a good source of exploded view drawings with all the parts labeled... the particular link is for a Remington Model 700

That might get you started if there is a specific model you can identify as your initial point.
