I would like to start reloading 9 mm, I have everything except dies (mostly because of unavailability).
But what dies are absolutely needed for reloading 9mm?
It seems way different from rifle reloading.
if anyone knows of a video that explains everything I would appreciate it.

and are lee dies compatible with the Rcbs rock chucker threads?

If you don't have a reloading manual I'd advise getting one (or several). The procedures and reasons are outlined in the text. To me it makes more sense than watching someone do reloading without the understanding of how and why certain things are done.

9mm along with most handgun calibers use a 3 piece die set. You need all three for for the neccessary steps of decapping, resizing, expanding, seating and crimping. The better sets have carbide sizer dies.

Most dies are 7/8x14 thread same as most presses. Yes, Lee dies and RCBS presses are compatable.

A Youtube video is a great way to see a musician perform or watch a dog water-ski, but for something IMPORTANT, like knowing how to reload ammunition properly, stick to a well-documented and well-written source. It scares me to think about how many folks are out there with reloading equipment that have NOT read a book on the subject.

I've always found that 9mm dies are required for loading 9mm ammo.

Yes, buy as many manuals as you can afford to (you should already have at least some for rifle loading) and read through the handgun section. They almost all have good pics and detailed explanations of what to do when, and why/how to do it.

I use Lee, Hornady, Lyman & RCBS dies in my old RCBS press.
Buy a set of whatever brand of carbide dies you can find at the price you like.

I'd consider adding a seperate die station for crimping the 9mm. A taper crimp will work out a lot better than the roll crimp you get on the standard three die set. Just about any semi auto ammo needs a taper crimp to function most reliably.

Most die sets for semi-auto ammunition come with a taper crimp ring in the seater die. Revolver die sets usually come with a roll crimp.

For the 9mm, a die set with a carbide sizer die is what I would get.
