Got a brand new S&W 44 model 629 (no scope) and no holster. Not much to pick from at local gun stores. Have found a couple manufacturers on the web. I need some good selections. Leaning towards a shoulder holster. Any one have any ideas?

If you like traditional like me check out the El Paso Saddlery web sight www.epsaddlery.com . I have not got the bucks yet but these are the best I've seen. I carry now in a Uncle Mikes. Can't beat the price and value and function.

I agree with Chief Rid,for quality and price you can`t beat El Paso Saddlery.I have the Tom Threepersons style in regular and cross draw and also the pancake style.Personally I found the Mdl.629 to heavy in a Bianchi shoulder holster but the Mt. gun was great. As Elmer said, let each dog scratch his own fleas in his own way.

If thats not enough to drool over try HIGH NOON HOLSTER in Fl.they make great rigs. For the money I like DeSantis Swivel shoulder holster

I've been looking for a holster also. I've a Ruger Vaquero with 5 1/2" barrel.

I tried the El Paso Saddlery web site but when I get there, I can't enlarge any of the pictures. You can go to any of the tabs except the order tab. Does anyone know if they changed their website address?

I'm gonna check out the sites that "twillis" listed.

Hi, all. Im new to the sight but also in search of holsters. Has anyone dealt with Kirkpatrick ?
They have a holster for my BHP im interested in but have no expirience with the company.
On El Paso Saddlery, their website has been glitchy for ages, but you can always order a catalogue, everything I havve read/heard about them has been positive.

I've been looking at holsters for awhile now and have been to all the sites mentioned here. I haven't heard bad reviews on any of them. IMO you should go to www.miltsparks.com and check out the versa max II. I've read good reviews and the VM II looks like one of the best for stability and concealment. But if you want something special, go to www.raftersgunleather.com. They only make strong side IWB and OWB holsters, but they use shark, elephant, ostrich, and alligator as well as cowhide. I've not seen anything like them anywhere else and their prices are very reasonable.

Holsters

Be sure and check out Bob Mernickle`s site for a great single action holster. The one that I bought for a 51/2 Vaquero can be worn strong side or cross draw. It has an extra belt loop for cross draw. I also bought one of his double thickness belts which could be used for a dress belt, it looks that good. I am pleased with both and I don`t please easily.
