A couple of years ago I decided to get back into shooting shotguns, rifles, and pistols. I had given away all of my reloading equipment many years ago, so had to purchase some. I began researching reloading presses and all of the other things you need for reloading, and was surprised to find that many of the presses are still made in the USA. I expected the majority of the presses would now be made in China. As a lifelong resident of Wisconsin I was glad to learn that MEC in Mayville, WI and Lee Precision in Hartford, WI still made their presses here, but I thought they were probably the exception. I read many things about presses that turned out to not be true, mostly because some people present their guesses as facts, which is really not helpful to anyone.

Below is a list of some of the popular makers of reloading presses, and where those presses are made as of July, 2019. I contacted each company to ensure that I had accurate information. It is very surprising and gratifying to know that only Frankford Arsenal’s M-Press is made outside of the USA (in China).

Where Reloading Presses Are Made

Dillon - USA

Forster – Lanark, Illinois

Frankford Arsenal - China

Hornady - Cast in Wisconsin, then built and finished in Nebraska

Lee Precision - USA, mostly in Hartford, Wisconsin

Lyman - USA

MEC - Mayville, Wisconsin

RCBS - California

Redding - Cortland, New York

That is good news. I figured, like most things, reloading equipment was manufactured off-shore. Seems I heard RCBS stuff was being sourced from China.
I, too had read that RCBS was being sourced in China and Mexico. And read similar things about Hornady and Lyman. After I contacted all of the companies and learned the truth I decided to start this thread, to get the real facts out.

That's right! I looked around my house and lo and behold, everything is made in China. Nearly everything! EXCEPT..... my firearms and reloading gear.

Yes, Many things that used to be USA made are now Imported; some are inferior and some are Superior to what was USA quality.
I have had screws and blots that were 'made by some unnamed Asian Source' that fractured at the head to body Junction and other screws tha tthe drive socket stripped out when trying to drive them into the Workpiece.

I also have some 1/8 NPT Brass Ball Valves that work well as 'cut out cocks' on semi scale model railroad cars (2.5 inch to the Foot Scale).

It depends greatly upon how the Item was specified and howw well the Receiving Inspection process enforces the Specifications.
