You can find your .45 Auto cases in the grass a little easier....

In situations where you will be carrying your handgun cartridges in a leather shell belt or holster rig, the nickel cases won't corrode like brass ones will in the leather shell loops.

As far as practicality handloading goes, I've almost always found a shorter case-life with nickel plated brass.

I concur with Alex regarding case life. This is particularly true of rounds that require case mouth belling for cast loads.
