I will probably get my Marlin 1894 in 44 mag. out of layaway Friday. I have some assorted loads for my SBH that are what I would consider medium velocity loads(1000 fps), some light plinking loads(700 fps) and some 44 special loads that are probably in the 700 fps range. Will these be OK to try out in the Marlin? I suspect the only concern would be getting it out of the barrel. These all shoot good in the Blackhawk but since there is 15 inches of extra barrel will it make a difference?
I think the concern over a poorly made bullet at high velocity will not come into play with me because I shoot Hornady XTPs in 240 and 180 gr.
