Just purchased a Winchester 100 and I here about a recall, something to do with the firing pin, never did find out what was going on with the firing pin. Is it breaking in such a way that it protrudes from the bolt face and you have a potential for full auto fire? Would like an answer if possible
Here is some more info on that recall.
I'm posting it because when I tried to call Winchester about mine a few times in the past, the phone rang and rang, and nobody ever answered. This site shows how the bolt was marked to tell if the recall work has been done (and by what shop). It may not be as "sure" as calling Winchester, but if you can't get hold of them, it may be the best you get.
If nothing else, you can strip the gun down and compare your parts to the pictures, but the 100 is one gun that I'd rather not tear down again. http://www.wisnersinc.com/additional_info/winchesterl_88_100.htm
