Go to "Tech Notes" (here on the Beartooth site) and read the three part article on the .444 Marlin. Marshall and the Boys at Beartooth are shooting 355gr cast bullets at 2150 fps into .762 inch groups at 100 yards. It's absolutely amazing!!
I have a Big bore winchester in 444 and it shoots real good after you do some Trigger work and such. Mine has a Williams FP rear sight and the rifle shoots better then I can I have had 1" groups at 100yds.
Now my load is somewhat of a Med load and it kicks like a mule, for anything heavier I use my older Marlin it handles the heavy recoil better.
The Winchester is a light small package and with Factory rounds is ok but to run real hot Handloads through it , you must like pain.......Marko
