Winchester Model 21 assembly
I am the proud new owner of a Model 21 skeet grade, 2 barrel set that I purchased at the Cody show last week. It came cased so the barrel and receiver were not assembled together. I am having trouble assembling the receiver, barrel and fore end assembly together.
The receiver appears to be in the uncocked position as both firing pins protrude equally in the fired position from the breech face. All efforts to cock the receiver have failed. Schwing's directions for assembly on page 355-356 of his Model 21 book are somewhat confusing in that regard.
Can anyone clarify how to cock a dismantled Model 21 receiver. I don't want to dink around and my heavy hammer hasn't worked yet. The pipe wrench is next!!
