Buddy of mine just gave me a Winchester model 70.... I'm actually kind of proud of it because it belonged to his wife's grandfather who was the great grandson of William Brady (Sheriff William Brady in Lincoln N.M.) Point is I have a Winchester from the Wm. Brady blood line. I think that's kinda cool. Anyway, my main reason for visiting is to find out any info on the gun specifically what year it was manufactured SN is 7806xx. Thanks
Looks like you have a 1965 M70 there. I happen to own a 1966 in '06 that is a very accurate rifle. The post '64s are not nearly so sought after as the pre '64s, but they are still fine rifles IMO. Congrats on gaining a fine new rifle.
Me either, but I also couldn't resist showing off my new toy! It's a 1950 '06 featherweight in original condition with a 1950 Leupold 4x scope that's clearly been on the rifle since it was new. It does show its been carried in the field alot but the bore and action show its not been fired much.
I love the faded annodizing on the scope and the wear marks on the barrel and stock. It shoots very well and the scope is clear and solid. My son and I took it out to the range to sight it in and found its already sighted in perfectly for 200yds (2.1" high at 100yds). So, we just shot it and had a ball.
Awesome rifles. Thanks for posting them! Love the M70's! Scotty
