Since Christmas is less than three months away the time is probably right to start systematically day-dreaming about products and gear we want to see produced. And it doesn't cost a thing to play.

I want to see Santa deliver a new 44 Mag Marlin 1894P in Tenifer coated steel and black synthetic with a slim forearm and a storage compartment in the buttstock. Top that off with factory AO Ghost Ring sights and you'd have a near perfect, go anywhere, do anything, anytime rifle in a 5 lb., 34" package.

Come to think of it, Santa, you could take the ports off my wished-for 1894 too.

Another wish. For a rugged, affordable and accurate Mauser 98 (or clone) with a 22-24" bbl that looks like it still retains it's military heritage (as opposed to a more modern derivative sporter like a Winchester Model 70). It should come equipped with a peep rear and hooded blade front. Caliber? The bigger the better.
