Because i paid 150 for it and it came as a set. CZ isnt worth mutch in Finland.

Right now i am testing with a zeiss 6x. Looking into buying a hawke airmax or maybe a vixen 4-16x44 with sidefocus.

Just not looking to throw 500+ at a scope for what is essentially my plinker.

Ok, hawke airmax, ase utra supressor. Fully bedded from chamber to front recoil lug behind the magazine/bolt. Free floated ofcourse.

5 shots 1 hole.

seems that it neither liked that cheap can or not having a can.

with the cheap can i got those terrible strings. Without it i got mediocre groups. Ase utra can and suddenly it stacks them into a penny

Happened to have some thick styrofoam left, wouldnt stay up in the wind.

Now its shooting cheap norma tac22 inside a penny at 30m (my backyard range)

now to decide where to zero it. Normally i zero everything at 100 because iam used to it and most of my guns are similar velocity.

Ranges i will shoot at are going to be 30-100 so maybe 70m? The precision iam looking for is about 5cm max at any range. My scope has 0.5mil marking tho so i can do some holdover

Yea mutch better. I suspect a few things contributed. Can was a big one free floating too. Bedding, maybe.

Now i can definitely admit shooter error. This is about as good as i can stack them off bags on an outdoor range.

I think the ammo could do better but il need to familiarise myself more first. Always takes a while when i get a new rifle to get a good feel for it.

I assume thats good for a 22lr?

gusts from the left

100m range with 7x scope.

Groups look much better than the first ones.

I would try a smaller aiming point, groups might shrink a bit more. Use a black marker and draw several dots of different diameters, I like a dot that is almost covered by the crosshair but can be bisected by the crosshair.

The scopes low magnification makes a smaller aiming point rather difficult to see. Its only 7x and i have poor eyesight nowadays.

I am sticking with cheapo ammo so far, this is all 7-15 euro a box. Considered cheap here. Match stuff costs about as mutch as a box of 223 nowadays. Its a training/hunting gun for closer ranges so for now i am happy.

I read somewhere that it could pay off to deep clean the barrel once i found ammo i like and then re-season it with only that ammo? any merit to that?

Right now the best results have been norma tac22 subsonic and CCI silencer. Norma is covered in some kind of sticky yellow grease, CCI feels dry and waxy.

For comparison here are other ammos i tried.

out of economic consideration i might opt for norma, its 6,99 a box and the cheapest.

10 shots on every ammo.

Had high hopes for blazer but the lot i bought from is so bad that for 19,99 a box iam going to go back to the gunshop tomorrow. Almost every bullet sits loose in the case and pokes out at weird angles. I did try a group with low ecpectations.

No experience with the Norma ammo, most ammo is either wax coated or copper plated. I always start with a new rifle by doing a thorough clean on the bore followed by a just damp oiled patch. From this bore I shoot about a half dozen fouling shots before shooting for groups. I don't mix plated and waxed ammo between cleaning. Another thorough bore cleaning is performed before switching ammo types.

Once I have a preferred ammo I change cleaning procedure. For wax I just run a dry nylon brush thru the bore, no solvent or oil, fouling shots might be needed. For plated I will clean with solvent followed by an oiled patch, fouling shots will usually be needed. I don't clean the bore until accuracy falls to unacceptable levels.

Norma uses some yellow vaseline like substance. The ammo is intended for RK-62/AK-5 analogs for military training, we use alot of 22 here in the Nordic countries to train and typically only bring out the real guns once or twice per conscription cycle.

Not hard to understand since the real stuff shoots Lapua D166 match ammo.... the brass cant be bothered to buy new rags for the 20th generation of grunts but somehow insists on match ammo for assault rifles....

anyway, the stuff on norma 22lr is yellow lumpy grease that reminds of vaseline.
