I was lurking on the Accurate Reloading Forum and noticed a thread on the possibilities of a game animal surviving a bullet wound to both lungs.
I got to thinking about a book I had read when I was a lot younger... "The American Rifles for Hunting and Target" I think the author was C.E. Haigie (sp). My notes show the book was printed in 1944.
In the book Mr. Haigie tells of an elk that he killed which not only surviced having both lungs penetrated but he had the bullet which was enclosed in a "cist". The animal appeard to be in good health otherwise.

Anyone else ever see anything like this?
