hello again I am in the market for a new rifle I absolutly love the .280 rem. and I have been looking at the browning x bolt medallion and white gold I think they look amazing but I am wondering how they shoot as I do not want an unaccurate rifle. and if there is a rifle you prefer over the brownings I would gladly take suggestions, thanks.

I have to agree with you about the look of all the Browning White Gold Medallions. They are stunning looking rifles. Although I've owned a couple of A-Bolts, I've never owned the newer X-Bolt. A very good friend has recently purchased one in .308 Win however and loves it. He actually broke it in last month on a large Georgia hog ( http://shootersforum.com/showthread.htm?t=70827 ). If I'm not mistaken he bought a White Gold Medallion BLR in .308 as well. I've handled his X-Bolt, but not fired it and like my A-Bolts it looks to be a very nicely made rifle (I should admit to being a big fan of Browning rifles, owning about 7 or 8 of them now).

I'd be very surprised to hear of someone buying a new Browning X-Bolt and being dissatisfied with it's accuracy and I'd have to say go for it as far as buying it. Again, it most certainly is a very good looking gun and the .280 is a very fine cartridge.

Ten different hunters will recommend 6 or 8 different rifles, so it's obviously mostly about personal experience and personal preference. I'll agree with the previous post, nevertheless. Don't own an X-Bolts, but I've owned lots of A-Bolts and they shoot just peachy, right out of the box. Can't imagine the X-Bolts would be any worse; maybe better? Browning's a good name and their guns shoot well, bottom line.

If you like the looks and feel of the X-Bolt, then that's the gun for you.

The X-Bot Medallion is too nice looking of a rifle to be taken in the field.
Not necessarily....its all a matter of hunting style and how you personally treat your rifles. My Medallion has seen a lot of field time, so have both of my fathers. You wouldn't know any of the 3 have ever been anywhere but a bench by looking at them.:)

Please helppp

I have been searching (with no luck) for a Browning Medallion White Gold 300 mag, left handed bolt. Browning discontinued this gun this year so it's hard to come by. If anyone knows where I could find one please let me know. Your help is much appreciated.

Iwoods, welcome to the shooters forum.
If looking for a particular rifle which is no longer in production, think hitting the online gun auction sites would be your best bet.
Good luck with your search!
