Winchester model 70 post 64 bolt locking lugs question

Registered Users do not see the above ad.

Hi this is my first post on the forum. I recently bought a Sears and roebuck model 53 Ted Williams edition. Its made by Winchester and is basically a post 64 model 70 that was sold by sears back in the day. I noticed when. I took the bolt out that rear edges of the locking lugs are really rounded off. The rifle is in mint condition and looks like it was barely fires if at all. Is this something that was done to the locking lugs on purpose from the factory or is it wear from cycling the action. And if it's wear is this normal?

You (the manufacturer) round those corners so the bolt will smoothly begin the transition into being fully locked into battery. In other words, it's supposed to look about like that.

This belongs in a different section, not "Warnings & Recalls." I'm thinking Gunsmithing, or perhaps Rifles.

Please pull the pictures and reduce their sizes.

Those are the closing cams of the bolt. All bolt actions have them, but different sizes and shapes.
There is no safe direction to point an unsafe gun.
