I think more details are necessary. There is likely someone here who will know exactly what you need to do if we know where you're starting and where you're wanting to end up.

Depending on what brass you're starting with, sometimes it's better to put the new shoulder on first before changing the neck. There might be another standard die that will put the shoulder on the case that you want, but other times it will need to be a full custom job.

RCBS, Redding, and Hornady have scads of wildcat dies, and you may just need to start going through and see if what you're doing has already been done (likely it has) and then it's just a matter of time and money. (Pay a bunch of money and wait a long time for your dies to show up. :D )

Or call/email them, tell them what you are doing and let them tell you how to get there.

Don't worry about getting the case perfect while forming from the dies, the 53K PSI will make sure all is right when you fire it. As for the forming, if you stepping down from a .5" case you'll want to go with .010" increments until you get close to 30cal. Once there you'll need to anneal the case and then continue. Also you might end up having to neck turn the case due to the build up of brass from the necking down. Don't worry about the shoulder angle, like I said once you get it to have a nice crush fit into the chamber the PSI will straighten it all out. Make sure that the case is about .010" over the trim length, this excess will dispear once fireformed. Again make sure you anneal the case if going below 30cal or you will expierance split necks. If you have other questions just ask. Adam

These rounds are all formed from the 223 case with a modified 221 Fireball die.

This is my process for forming 223 to 17 Fireball or 20 Vartarg

Imajeep,

What is your parent case? What is your desired end result? Are you being purposely vague, to protect your idea? If so, you'll find that isn't necessary. Even if what you're doing is unique, guys on this sight are not likely to try and steal your thunder, so to speak.

Give this body of knowledge enough information and I'm willing to bet we can help you with any case-forming challenge.
