I just bought a 257 AI on a Mauser 98 action. I was wondering if anybody was experimenting with 8208XBR powder in a 257 AI. I love the powder in my 22-250 and was wondering if I could load it in my new 257.
I'm sure someone will be along to help answer your question on that powder, in a 257AI. My guess is that it's way too fast to deliver the kind of performance you will be able to get, if you switch to something slower, like 4350.
I have a .257 Roberts Improved that I had built on a Mexican Mauser action. Mine has a one in twelve twist. A stiff load of Reloder #19 moves an 85 grain Nosler ballistic Silver tip along at 3600 fps. This is my favorite coyote whacker.
Yep! Our coyotes still haven't completely recovered from that mange outbreak.
