This site; says it was made between 1943 and 1948.
It probably has a flat barrel band near the muzzel, and if so is refered to as a "Flat Band" by the collectors.

The war time guns were not made in quantity and nobody I've talked to has been able to nail down the exact year of production.

Hope this helps.

One unsolisited comment from a sentimental guy, since this is your fathers gun, never, never, never even consider parting with it. You will regret it if you do. I've read so many laments from posters who have done this and almost every one of them regrets it.
I just wish I could have had some of my fathers or grandfathers guns. Didn't get any of them.

The gun sounds like a FLAT BAND and if so will have a slightly different hammer and sights than later guns.

Two weeks ago I had a chance at buying one in 85% condition for $270, but when I left the shop to go home and get my check book, by the time I returned a gun collector had bought it.

I wish I would have told the clerk to hold it for me, but I didn't and I know I will regret this for many years to come.

The 30wcf is the same as the 30-30, there should be a lot of information written about the 30-30 and you should be able to find facts and photos.

Hold on to it, it was your father's gun, cherish the memories in years to come.

as already stated your 94 was produced during WW2. I have read that Winchester did not record these serial numbers from 43-47 because of the production of weapons for the war. I have also read that Win did not produce receivers for the model 94 during WW2. The rifle with serial number 1,500,000 was presented to President Truman in 1948. I have a WW2 era model 94 chambered in .32WS. It is a great rifle and a lot of fun to shoot. It is also a hand me down from my wifes grandfather to her father to me. A google search for Win 94 serial numbers will get you more info than you probably will want. hope this helps and have fun shooting.

To me the older winchester 94's are great, I bought one that was made in 1939 from the original owner in 32 spl. my 14 year old son wants to use it instead of his Marlin 30-30.
