Having never tried such a thing, and relying largely on a bit of recall and my calibrated eyeball here- I think it should work.

I would think if it doesn't work, there is a very specific reason that is known to Beretta. I bet they would talk to a man about it. Id give them a shout prior to laying down the cash.
