I have a Marlin 983T, which is a .22 magnum rimfire. In a moment of weakness I bought it with a synthetic stock. Does anyone know if a wooden stock is available anywhere for this rifle, and is there anything that makes a wooden stock incompatible for that model.
I have emailed Marlin customer service but not heard back from them. Any help is appreciated.

I just checked their website. I think the difference in the 983T and the 983S is the stock. And I think the "S" model is stainless. Anyway, it doesn't matter; they say its out of stock.

Thanks.

Ok I see, when I got to their site it said they had (1) 983S in stock. Might be worth a call in case their site isin't up to date. Also that price is for a brand new stock, I've bought used stocks from them for much less, then refinished them myself. I like keeping those projects for winter so it passes the time until I can get to the range in the spring. Anyway, good luck in your search and let us know how it all shakes out for you.
