Miroku .22LR Lever Action Mis-fire Problems!

Hi,

I purchased an almost new Miroku .22LR Lever action the other day. I tried sighting it in today and the ammo that I bought with it is some old Winchester stuff (Subsonic and Super speed which is Made in Australia). It takes two hits before it will go off. I purchased some new CCI ammo and it shoots fine with no mis fires. Can anyone tell me if it would be a problem with the gun or is it just the old ammo? I'm only new to .22 shooting so still have a fair bit to learn yet. So any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks Guys

You might also want to flush out the firing pin channel of your rifle via squirting some pressurized (can) gun cleaner into the FP hole in the boltface.

Is your Miroku a Winchester 9422 style, or a smaller Browning BL-22 style ? (The trigger travels with the lever in the Browning version)

Either way, they both take down by unscrewing the screw through the rear part of the receiver. which hold the two receiver halves together.

I have never had an issue with my Winchester 9422XTR. It's a great little .22lr.

I have had some problems with "Cheap" .22cal ammo. Some of it gums the works rather quickly. The only issue I have ever had with my Ruger MK II Comp Target was with cheap Rem/Fed ammo at a Youth Shoot. We had fired thousands of rounds and the Little Ruger just stopped! The 9422 was still churning them out, but we did have to stop at breaks after the "issue" and run a cleaner and lube into the actions. I figured that the Winchester would choke first given the gooey residue.

The donated ammo from local distributors sure made a lot of kids happy that day.

I went to the range today and tried some new CCI Standard Velocity and some new Winchester Power Points. The CCI stuff worked fine with no misfires at all, but the Winchester stuff misfired with every shot. I checked the cases for the firing pin indentation and it is only a very light mark.
